Get Some Exercise While Watching Your iPod-Compatible LCD TV
As a former competitive runner, I know how hard it is to keep motivated. Living in Winnipeg, Canada makes it all the tougher. Who wants to go outside and run 2, 5, or 10 miles when its 40 degrees below 0? Not the majority, that's for sure, and that's why so many opt for the treadmill. Boring!
Not anymore. A company called Life Fitness is offering a pre-order right now of its Platinum Club Series Treadmill. Yes, I know this is a TV blog and you're wondering how this is related. Well, it is.
The Platinum Club Series Treadmill has quite the number of relevant features. First of all its ipod-compatible, so if you have videos on your ipod you can hook it up to the treadmill and view them through a 15" LCD screen!

Secondly, the LCD screen functions as an "integrated entertainment console", meaning you can watch TV or movies while you workout!

So there is your relevance! But I must mention the cool Workout Landscape Perspectives. Anyone who has used a treadmill knows of the little red LED lights that illustrate whether you happen to be moving up or down on the treadmill. Boring! The Workout Landscape Perspectives lets you choose between 3 different landscapes for workouts: the 5 km nature trail, the mountain climb, or the 400 meter track. Check out the picture below to see the difference between the past and the present in treadmill/TV technology.
Just Like The Outdoors
If you know someone who always makes the "start an exercise program" for a New Year's Resolution and never follow through, take advantage of the pre-sale and have your treadmill delivered by November 30, well before Christmas.

If the price tag is to hefty for you, another option is to mount an LCD screen on your treadmill. Here are some alternative screens suitable for mounting:
Samsung SyncMaster 910MP 19" LCD Monitor which can be mounted on a stand from LCDFitness.com
Exonic EXM1530 15.3" Ceiling Mount TFT LCD Monitor
Audiovox Overhead Video System with 15" LCD Screen and TV Tuner
