Panasonic's 2008 VIERA Plasma Lineup Brings 16 New Models To North America
Panasonic has officially unveiled its new plasma VIERA lineup for the North American market, bringing 16 new models to shelves in the coming months. VIERA, which stands for "Visual Era" and "exceptional picture, connectivity, customer service, and satisfaction" is Panasonic's latest North American plasma brand. VIERA Z80 Series

Panasonic will also be releasing 5 new LCD models:
- a 26-inch 720p LX model for $799.95
- a 32-inch 720p LX model for $899.95
- a 37-inch 1080p LZ85 model for $1399.95
- a 32-inch 1080p LZ800 premium model (no price available)
- a 37-inch 1080p LZ800 premium model (no price available)
All five models feature 1200:1 native contrasts ratios, 12000:1 dynamic contrast ratios, 178 degree viewing angle, and motion blur reduction technologies. Other key features include HDMI connections, Game Mode, SD memory slots, and PC inputs. The 2 premium models have additional unspecified features.
Panasonic boasts a 100000 hour half-life on all of the new displays, translating into a 30-year lifespan when viewed 8 hours per day. The company also provides a 24-hour customer support line devoted to VIERA customers.
