Pioneer LCD HDTV's Coming To North America "In The First Half Of 2009" (Rumor)
We heard rumors earlier this year that Pioneer would be adding LCD's to their HDTV lineup. Sure enough, the maker of the famous KURO plasma launched 32- and 37-inch LCD panels in Europe-but here in North America we got nothing. That may be changing in 2009 though. An unnamed Pioneer representative stated in a Japan Corporate News Network report that the two LCD's recently launched in Europe would be coming to both North America and Asia "in the first half of 2009". The report also stated that Pioneer would be sourcing the LCD panels from Sharp, in line with what we already know about their recent business restructuring. So is the rumor true? That remains to be seen, but we're guessing yes and that we'll know more come the Consumer Electronics Show in January.
