Marantz Gives Us The $799 BD7003 Blu-ray Player Giggles

Marantz has added a 'more affordable' Blu-ray player to their disgustingly expensive lineup. The Marantz BD7003 doesn't quite evoke the same raised eyebrows as the $2000 BD8002, but with a price tag of $799 it'll still get more than a few shocked gasps. Especially as the 'high-value' BD7003 is only a Profile 1.1 Blu-ray player that tries to cover up its inadequacies with 1080p DVD upscaling, HDMI 1.3a and Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS HD Master Audio decoding. $800 seems more than a little pricey for these specs, but if you're not intimidated you'll be able to get your hands on the Marantz BD7003 Blu-ray player in November.
