NAD Electronics' T587 Blu-ray Player Only...Yeah Right Only, $1499

NAD Electronics is offering up a T587 Profile 2.0 Blu-ray player featuring BD Live, BD Java, 1080p at 24 frames per second, HDMI 1.3 with Deep Color, and xvYCC Extended Color. The high-end model has a variety of other connections as well including ethernet, composite, component, coaxial, external IR, and a front-panel USB port. Of course it features the latest Dolby and DTS lossless audio codecs, and can upscale DVD's. Despite NAD's credentials, we wonder if dishing up a Blu-ray player for $1499 is a smart business decision. It's definitely not looking to appeal to the mainstream consumer, that's for sure.
