Sanyo PLC-XTC50L Projector First With Auto Lamp Selection System
So maybe Sanyo's PLC-XTC50L projector, the industry's first with an "Auto Lamp Selection System" isn't as cool as a voice-guided projector. But the system, which selects one of two lamps to project from based on user preferences, preprogrammed settings, or if one doesn't work, does result in maintenance free lamps and a doubling of the lamp's lifespan to 6000 hours. That's double the typical lifespan of a commercial projection lamp although we have a feeling that lifespan is a combination of the two lamps rather than specific to one. Nonetheless, it is an industry first, and the PLC-XTC50L also features Active Maintenance filter, short and long throw lens options, vertical and horizontal lens shift and automatic keystone correction. It'll be available in the UK for £4995 + VAT in January 2009.
